My Trails: An Update

with one comment

So, my trails: I thought I’d post an update because my teaser pictures I initially posted got quite a bit of interest.

My building there has been a bit erratic in the last few weeks. I went through a stage of building franticly, and then not digging for a week or so :P. I’m getting a hardtail project bike in a few days time though, so that’ll motivate me to dig more :). But for now, there is 1 main line, 1 medium line, and 1 small/pumptrack(ish) line. None of it is really finished and all dialled in, but I have plenty of time for that :D. A few transfer lines in there too :P, but of course, like most of the stuff there, it’s only half done at the moment. And I’m a bit reluctant to properly buff out everything until I know for sure it won’t get knocked quickly. As of yet, no-one has touched them in the months they’ve been up – not even a dogwalker walking all over the lips…

Anyways, here’s a few images to give you an idea of what’s going down :).

Feel free to post any comments :).

Airik Elstracular Spectacular

OMG, this has to be one of my favorite web edits of all of times. Once you get past the first 30 seconds (I think it’s ironic) it’s truly inspiring stuff. You couldn’t even name half the tricks he does. Just watch it. It’s good stuff :).

2 Sunny Days and a Garage Full of Wood

leave a comment »

🙂

Impromptu front yard quarter pipe… aaaaaaaahh yeeeeaaahh!!

It was sunny. I thought, “I wonder what wood I have in the garage?”. I had a look. I saw a bunch of wood. I thought, “I wonder how big a ramp I could build out of this stuff?”. 2 sunny days later, lots of screws, some fun with power-tools, and more than my fair share of energy drink, and this is the result :D.

I built it scrap-heap challenge style. Measuring tape was never used, I didn’t plan a thing, I just keep sawing and drilling stuff :P. For example, I didn’t have “thick ply” large enough for the sides, so I improvised and screwed a bunch of smaller pieces together.

Anyways, the thing is super fun to ride :D, and I’ll hopefully post up some pictures of me riding it soon :).

Take it easy

Whistler Bike Park Video

leave a comment »

Ok, so I have some explaining to do. I was a bit late on editing this video. Me and Mike went to Whistler 12 months ago, and I’ve literally only just got round to editing and uploading the footage :P. This isn’t even all the footage we got either – I just felt a bit guilty not editing it all year, so I knocked this thing together in a few hours. I’ll edit up a few more videos with the rest of the footage later :).

p.s. yes, that is me in the pink panther suit 😀

Enjoy
